Kellie Deans

Qualified Yoga Teacher
(IYTA and Yoga Australia)

Hi, my name is Kellie Deans.

I originally trained with the IYTA (International Yoga Teachers Association), but am now a member of Yoga Australia.

I have completed over 600 hours of Yoga Teacher Training in Australia with an interest in Hatha, Seniors, Chair and Restorative Yoga.

I am the owner and teacher at Simplicity Yoga, having run Yoga classes for over 5 years.

Life is an ongoing journey of many changes and challenges.

I began my Yoga journey in 2002 attending Hatha Yoga classes in Randwick, NSW. I didn’t realise I had embarked on a journey that would remain with me forever in daily life. Over the years my practice has been influenced by Hatha and Iyengar Yoga. I am not an Iyengar Teacher however am very thankful the style has influenced me to pursue a passion to teach safe and alignment based Hatha Yoga classes.

I have always lived a physically active lifestyle and decided to try Yoga in 2002 to “stretch my hamstrings”. I needed to pass a “Sit and reach flexibility test” to join the NSW Police. I passed the test and began a 14 year career as a Police Officer. Yoga was by my side to help manage a demanding career. I’ve hung up the boots now to pursue joy in other areas of life.

My love for Yoga has continued for 22 years and has supported me throughout many life changing events and illness. I have four children and understand the importance of placing time aside to practice yoga, breathe and calm the mind.

Come along to Simplicity Yoga and discover my friendly yoga studio.
