Frequently Asked Questions

Can anyone try Yoga?

Yes. A yoga class offers a mix of ancient wisdom and practical science. Yoga gives participants control over their own well-being and poses can be adapted to suit any individual no matter what their age or state of health.

What style of Yoga do you teach?

Hatha Yoga. Please work at your own pace. We are all born with different constitutions and should not compare ourselves with others.

What do I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing in which you can easily move and stretch.
T-shirts, singlets, Yoga tights or loose long shorts are all suitable options.
Clean bare feet are essential so please leave your footwear on the racks outside the studio. Bags and other personal items can be brought into the studio.  There are toilet facilities to allow you to change if required.

What do I need to bring?

All equipment, including mats, yoga bolsters, blanket and straps are provided.
Feel free to bring your own mat if you prefer.

Do the classes cater for beginners?

Yes. The classes and poses are taught in stages to allow all abilities to participate. Anyone can attend a class and use the modifications and props to practice. More experienced students have the opportunity to work deeper in poses.

Can I eat before a class?

It can be quite uncomfortable bending and moving with a full stomach. It is best not to eat a heavy meal within 2 hours before a class.
Fluids and a light snack up to 1 hour before class is fine.

When should I arrive?

Please arrive 5-10 minutes before each class.

The studio is located at the rear of my home. Please follow the signs and walk via the brick path to enter via the side garden. If you are new please arrive 10 minutes beforehand to say hello and discuss any requirements.

You can still join us if you arrive late. The studio door will be unlocked.
